Very Berry Chocolate Protein Smoothie

This Very Berry Chocolate Protein Smoothie is creamy, chocolate-ly, and packed with good-for-you nutrients!

Very Berry Chocolate Protein SmoothieWhen February rolls around I usually become pretty Valentine’s Day Festive. Actually, every month that has a holiday or somewhat of a theme, I become kind of festive. I’ll say it’s the art teacher in me, but really I just love a reason to celebrate a good occasion. I personally don’t think it’s so strange, but when I try to celebrate the first day of Summer I get a look or two.

Anyway, back to Valentine’s Day… a short ten days away! Yesterday I shared my Paleo Flourless Chocolate Cake. That cake is so good. But I do want to say that those desserts are to be indulged in, in moderation! I mean, yes, I ate a lot of it throughout the week, but I had to taste test it for you guys, right? Life is about balance though, and while I love a good treat (and even better when I modify it to fit my lifestyle), it is easy to over do it. So, I balance those ‘occasion’ days with healthy-packed nutritious meals. Smoothies are often my go-to because they are quick, on-the-go, and completely customizable. Naturally, this smoothie had to be somewhat Valentine’s Day festive, I couldn’t help myself. I am really into chia seeds in my smoothies lately. They give me that extra superfood boost plus thicken up the shake a bit. I love this smoothie because it’s packed with the health benefits o berries, chia seeds, and almond milk plus has the protein I’m looking for (and it tastes DELICIOUS)

  • Love your blog! I’m Jenni. I’m still trying to get my health blog on its feet, and yours is an inspiration for sure! Oh, and chocolate and berries is one of my favorite combinations. This smoothie looks awesome.

  • This not only looks pretty it tastes as good as it looks. My usual smoothie is bananas and almond milk and chocolate protein powder but since it is Valentines Week (yes I celebrate the whole week with pink treats and hears) I made a special stop in the frozen food section to pick up some strawberries and raspberries The Chia seeds didn’t fit into my budget but the smoothie still tasted amazing, It was a good change of pace and my roommates that is was too cute. My mom had sent me pink and white straws so I had to copy Lexi and use my straw in the drink. I will be making this again until I run out of frozen fruit. I love being able to eat clean and this is the perfect paleo and gluten free pink smoothie. You might have to bring it back for October for some breast cancer awareness. But it is worth trying anything she posts. Her recipes are proven to work so you don’t waste your time or money. Enjoy!
