We’ve spent the last two weeks with family and friends, celebrating holidays and ringing in the new year. Aka we ate out and drank a lot more than usual, so I am ready to kick it into serious gear.

Ah, 2016. It’s going to be a BIG year.

For starters, we are getting MARRIED this summer!

I am working on my cookbook which will be out later this year (!!!!), working on tons of new blog projects, and working on making more time for my health and well-being. Healthy living is so much more than just how you eat, so don’t forget to get good sleep, listen to your body, and make time for things that you love.

The perfect healthier Summer dessert. If you’ve never grilled bananas, you need to start with these! Lightly sweetened and topped with a flavorful chocolate sauce for the perfect grilled treat.

Ingredients
  1. 4 Bananas
  2. 2-3 tbsp raw honey
For the Chocolate Mocha Sauce
  1. 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  2. 1 cup dark chocolate chunks
  3. 1/4 cup + 1 tbsp coconut sugar
  4. 1 cup full-fat canned coconut milk
  5. 2 tbsp freshly brewed coffee
  6. Optional: 2 tsp cinnamon
  7. 1/2 tsp nutmeg
Instructions
  1. Heat grill to medium heat
  2. Slice bananas length wise, leaving skin on
  3. Place sliced side down on the grill for 3-4 minutes
  4. Flip, brush with honey, then let grill for an additional 3-4 minutes
  5. While cooking place cocoa powder, chocolate, coconut sugar, and coconut milk in a saucepan
  6. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and add in coffee and spices
  7. Let simmer for 10 minutes, stirring often
  8. Drizzle over bananas and serve

  1. Would be PERFECT on top of some fresh dairy-free ice cream or over chia pudding!
