Apple Cider Sangria with a caramel rim

Apple Cider Sangria

This Apple Cider Sangria has everything you love about fall: it’s spiced just right, is so comforting and has all that classic apple flavor! It’s also super easy to make and a great cocktail to serve at a party without having to individually make drinks for each guest. Make this sangria using white wine flavored with fall fruit ahead of time and check one thing off your to-do list. It’s refreshing, festive and so delicious. Want to make it even more special? Garnish the rim of the glasses with this paleo caramel! It’ll be worth it!

Pitcher of sangria made from apple ciderIngredients Needed

  • 1 bottle white wine
  • Fresh apple cider
  • Carbonated water
  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Gluten-free vodka
  • Apples
  • Honey
  • Cinnamon
  • Pomegranate Seeds
  • Orange slices

How do you make Apple Cider Sangria?

We’re not lying when we say sangria is easy to make! All you do is mix together all of the ingredients and then let sit for anywhere from 2 to 24 hours. When you are ready to serve, you can add in the carbonated water. Additionally, you may want to have some fresh fruit on hand to top off the glasses with.

How to Make it a Mocktail

This drink is so festive for all of the fall holidays and gatherings. Make it a cocktail by omitting the white wine and vodka and replacing it with additional half carbonated water and half fresh squeezed orange juice!

How far in advance should sangria be made?

Sangria should be made at least 2 hours before serving, so all the fruit can mix well with the rest of the ingredient and so that it can have time to chill! Sangria gets better and better as it sits, so even 24 hours ahead will be great.

Recipe Notes

  • The longer it sits, the better! Make at least two before serving, or up to 24 and let it sit in the fridge.
  • There are many gluten-free vodkas out there, my two favorite are Ciroc Vodka and Tito's Handmade Vodka. Tequila and rum are generally naturally gluten-free. Read labels and be cautious of added flavors.

Aperol Spritz

Meet my favorite drink of summer: the Aperol Spritz. This classic Italian cocktail was one that we grew to love in Italy and we brought this aperol spritz recipe right home with us when we returned! It’s light, refreshing, and packed with perfect citrus flavor. This is an easy cocktail to throw together that everyone will enjoy!

Super Easy Aperol Spritz Recipe

When we were in Italy, we discovered the Aperol Spritz. I know, it’s not new, but it was to us at the time, and it has since become our staple cocktail. It’s light, refreshing, and the best non-recipe recipe you can make! In Italy, an Aperol Spritz is an “apertivo” — which is essentially a 2 hour post-work cocktail hour with light dishes. One dinner we continued to ordered them, instead of switching to wine, and let’s just say we got many looks, haha.

Sipping on aperol spritz cocktail in italy

Clearly, we enjoyed them all trip long!

First… What is Aperol?

Aperol is an orange flavored Italian Apertif with a mix of sweetness, bitterness & spices. It’s similar to Campari but slightly different as it’s less bitter and half the alcohol content. In addition, it’s also inexpensive which makes it a great cocktail to serve a large group!

An Aperol Spritz is made with:

  • Aperol
  • Chilled Prosecco
  • Soda Water or Tonic Water
  • Fresh Orange Slices, for garnish
  • Ice

Generally, an Aperol Spritz is a 3-2-1 mix of three parts prosecco, two parts Aperol, and one splash of soda water. However I prefer making it with a slight change: I ditch the soda water! First, fill up your glass with prosecco. Then add a splash of Aperol. Finally,  garnish with an orange slice and enjoy! It’s that easy! I love serving guests Aperol Spritz’, because it’s hands off and makes my time hosting less stressful!

The Kombucha Shop: Review & Giveaway

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. I was compensated and received product to try. I would never review, promote, or endorse a product that I fully don’t stand behind, or give an opinion that is not 100% my own.

Ah…. Kombucha. I’ve heard of it, I’ve seen it, I’ve purchased a bottle here or there, but definitely didn’t think I was up for the challenge of making it nor did I really know what it was. Are you in the same boat as me? Let’s start from the beginning…

kombucha

I wasn’t either. Well… I was, but didn’t actually know the details, like how to do it, what it could do for me, or what that scooby thing was. I had heard about it and bought some deliciously expensive Kombucha in the market. I posted some pictures and many of you lovely folks on  instagram told me to make my own. Still, I had no idea what the process would entail, and I guess you could say I was intimidated to try it out. Then, I found The Kombucha Shop.

They told me about their starter set, and ensured I could handle the task! The box came in the mail with complete easy-to-follow directions. I mean, every question I had was laid out there for me. It was a breeze! I shared the progress over on my Instagram:

The Kombucha Shop

Kombucha1

Kombucha is a fermented (and naturally fizzy) tea drink that is packed with antioxidants, probiotics, and beneficial vitamins. It is made up of black tea, water, sugar, and SCOBY- which stands for Symbiotic Colony Of Bacteria and Yeast, a fermenting culture. The health benefits of this drink are pretty amazing.

It sounded pretty awesome, but again, I thought it would be too complicated to deal with. I was totally wrong! With the starter set you can practically make it blind-folded! Are you interested?

Strawberry Lemonade with Mint

My day generally goes as follows (in terms of beverages) water with lemon, coffee, water all throughout the day and evening (an occasional martini or glass of wine), and possibly a second cup of coffee.  See, I generally don’t opt for a lemonade, a juice, and definitely no sodas around here. Usually it’s just water. Every so often during a hot summer day I crave a refreshing drink that has a little something sweet.

Making time to relax, read, and focus on my mind and body is something I am focusing on this Summer. Relaxation, sleep, and removing stress is just as big of a part of a healthy lifestyle as is eating clean and working out. So, whip up a batch of this refreshing Strawberry Lemonade with Mint and make some time for YOU today.
