I’ve been making this whipped espresso honey latte recipe every morning for months! Even as it gets chillier out. Every time I share it on Instagram, I get countless requests for the recipe, and for good reason.
Almost too pretty to drink, this drink is sweet, salty, creamy, and has the perfect kick of caffeine to get me going in the morning. It tastes like a fancy coffee shop drink but is super easy to make!Â

Sweet & Salty Honey Latte Recipe
I’m a big matcha girl and love my vanilla bean matcha latte. However, some days I want something a little stronger, and this honey latte recipe always hits the spot. Made with two shots of espresso, it’s guaranteed to put some pep in your step, and the flavors are perfectly balanced.
The espresso adds a slightly bitter taste, while the honey adds sweetness without the need for refined sugars. Then, the milk adds a rich, creamy taste, and the salt provides the perfect contrast while enhancing the rest of the ingredients.
I love to pair it with a slice of gluten-free spiced apple bread or a coffee crumb cake muffin for an easy breakfast or a delicious afternoon pick-me-up!

Ingredients and Notes

- Honey: This adds a sweet, floral note. Start with 1 teaspoon and add more to taste.
- Flaky Sea Salt: Trust me on this! Just like with chocolate chip cookies or fudgy Paleo brownies, a pinch of salt is the perfect touch, balancing the sweetness and enhancing all the flavors.
- Espresso: Use any brand you like best.
- Milk: I love Mooala Koala almond milk, but any regular or vegan and dairy-free milk will work. I recommend unsweetened varieties! For an even richer, creamier drink, heavy cream works well, too.
How to Make a Whipped Espresso Honey Latte

This homemade latte comes together in less time than it takes to order one at Starbucks! Here’s how I combine everything:
- Combine ingredients: Add honey and a pinch of flaky sea salt to a glass. Then, pour hot espresso on top.
- Froth: Use a handheld frother to whip the mixture until it’s light in color, creamy, and frothy.
- Serve: Add lots of ice to the glass, and pour your milk of choice on top. I like to add cinnamon for a touch of warmth, too. Then, stir and enjoy!

Kitchen Tools I Use
- Glass Tumbler
- Espresso Machine (I’ve had my Jura Coffee machine since 2015 and use it pretty much every day!)
- Milk Frother
Possible Variations
Feel free to experiment with different flavor combinations to make this honey latte your own! Some fun possible variations include:
- Vanilla: Add ¼-½ teaspoon of vanilla extract when whipping the honey and espresso.
- Maple Sea Salt: Swap the honey for pure maple syrup for a deeper, caramel-like sweetness.
- Hot Latte: Skip the ice and pour steamed milk over the whipped espresso mixture instead.
