Why clean living isn’t a fad:
While applying the invaluable principles of gluten-free and Paleo lifestyles, Lexi’s Clean Living takes a practical approach to clean eating that won’t deprive you of your favorite foods. Over here at LCL, transcends dietary labels – it is for everyone who loves preparing delectable meals that satisfy every palate and every craving.
What is clean eating?
Clean eating is a practical and customizable lifestyle approach and a framework for the food we eat and the choices we make daily. It’s an intuitive lifestyle approach to eating that transcendsd ietary labels. At its core, clean eating is about eating whole foods and replacing processed and refined foods with healthier options to ultimately improve your health and well-being.
But perhaps above all, eating clean is not a fad diet. It has staying power. It is an approach to food that becomes part of who you are, quite simply how you live.
The importance of balance
My personal approach to clean eating can be summed up in one word: balance. Though lists are helpful to keep track of your journey as you eliminate and then do trial introductions of certain foods in your diet, taking note of how you feel, I find that when I keep balance front and center as is such an essential principle in my life and in the way I eat, I don’t need to think about detailed lists, counting calories, weighing myself, or subscribing to dietary labels, I want to transcend them.
You’ll find most recipes here are a reflection of the way I eat—a balanced, practical approach. I eat healthy, nutritious meals made with a balance of protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats, but I also indulge in sweet treats because what is life without a little dessert or the occasional cocktail!
Beyond Eating: Pillars of Health
The fundamentals of holistic health go beyond just what you eat! I have found so much healing and wonderful health benefits when I, in addition to eating cleanly, make the effort to exercise regularly and work on developing practices to manage stress and ensure sound sleep. These categories are the pillars of healthy living that I find are truly essential, and you’ll find talked about on the site often.
